What Is The Nice Piece Scholarship?

The Nice Piece Scholarship is designed to support emerging photographers and videographers who are already documenting snowboarding (or skiing) and are ready to take that next step. This isn’t just a grant—it’s a door opening.

The selected recipient will receive:

• Funding for equipment + travel

• An invite to shoot at Baldface Lodge during Low Maintenance

• Mentorship alongside an established creative

It’s a chance to plug into the culture, sharpen your craft, and create in the kind of environment that shapes careers.

Built On Legacy

Alex Pashley built his life around the mountains, snowboarding, and uplifting the people around him. His approach to mentorship and community created real pathways for others—and this scholarship is a continuation of that energy.

Applicants will be evaluated on:

• Originality

• Commitment to the craft

• Dedication to snowboard culture

The final selection will be made by Erin Pashley, alongside a group of Alex’s close friends—people who understand exactly what this scholarship stands for.

Giving Back Through CORE

All donations supporting the scholarship will be facilitated by CORE, the nonprofit founded by snowboarder Erik Leon, focused on expanding access to the outdoors.

On March 20, a photo exhibit benefiting the scholarship will take place in Steamboat—lining up with a stacked weekend of events:

Print sales, along with limited tees and stickers, will go directly toward funding the scholarship.
